S/S 21 "FORCES" COLLECTION

about forces
4th semester collection
“FORCES” is the name of this year's 4th semester collection. It is inspired from the fashion brand "Balmain" and contains elements of protective clothing. Due to our current situation, the pandemic, which I let myself inspired by the topic itself, is the forces of nature. My main focus is protection and functional clothing, for the people who work against it, those who have lost their existence, those whose lives turn completely upside down. I embody this through protection, which accessory pieces, such as the glove, the turtleneck and the many buckles. Because in a difficult time people need something to hold onto. This is symbolized by the many belt and belt buckles in my collection. A pandemic or other forces of nature are something we can’t influence. We can only influence the effects afterwards. This year's semester topic is about redefining a fashion brand and its design. My collection contains a lot of accessories, patterns, as well as prints which suppose to pass the feeling of nature forces. From prints inspired by earth shocks to belts that protect offer, based on the codes of the fashion brand and our nature. What kind of effects does this have on our fashion? What about designer labels, whose entire product only relates to events? Here I tried to developed what it could look after all the damage a pandemic may have done. Will there still be events? If yes how? Protective clothing is originally used for people whose job requires it. Based from the codes from Balmain and work uniform, I've designed a collection that mixes the two and what fashion might look like in the near future.
